What would make sense everywhere in HKG would be to walk, run and stop in the same way that cars do.

Do parked/stopped vehicles occupy the right-hand lane? No.

Do you overtake on the left? No.

When you are driving towards somebody, on which side do you pass? You go left, they pass on your right.

Hong Kong needs one standard, and it needs ruthless enforcement ... at the moment, different MTR stations use left or right as if consistency has no value. Bloody stupid. And the footpaths ... oh dear ...
